19/10/11 2yo FRONTIER won his Maiden in Ireland

promissing win for the son of FOUR ROSES

2yo FRONTIER (Galileo-FOUR ROSES) won despite very testing ground his Maiden at Navan in Ireland on his second start. The winner is entered for the English Derby and is described by the Racing Post:

"A big eyecatcher on his Curragh debut ten days previously, showed the benefit of that by winning what might turn out to be an above average maiden. Always in touch, he eventually picked up in the testing ground and continued to stay on strongly inside the last to beat the determined challenge of the runner-up. His extra bit of experience probably came to the fore. He already looks a horse for middle distances next year and there should be a good bit more to come."

FRONTIER is bred by Graf and Grafin Stauffenberg at their SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN and was sold at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales. He is running in the colours of Michael Tabor and owned by him in partnership with Derrick Smith and Mrs John Magnier.

FRONTIER is a brother to the high class FOUR SINS, who became a Gr. 2 winner in the colours of HH the Aga Khan and was placed in the Epsom Oaks as well.

Their dam FOUR ROSES has a colt foal by MONTJEU and is back in foal to GALILEO.
