09/04/12 La Reine Noir foaled an other filly
sister to Lady Marian got a lovely filly by Montjeu
LA REINE NOIR (Rainbow Quest-
La Felicita) foaled at 10:15pm a lovely bay filly by
MONTJEU, the most dominant Derby sire and one of the leading sires of recent times. The dam of the filly is a sister to
Gr.1 winning
LADY MARIAN as well as to the
Gr.3 winner
LUCIDOR. The last foal out of
LA FELICITA for the Stauffenberg's is this years 3yo hope
LYCIDAS, a 2yo winner, who is due to start his 3yo season within the next 2 weeks in either the International Trial Stakes,
L. at Lingfield, the Feilden Stakes,
L. at Newmarket or the Dr Busch Memorial,
Gr.3 at Krefeld. Hopefully he will proof there to be good enough to go for the Prix du Jockey Club,
Gr.1 - the French Derby.
A few years ago Graf und Grafin Stauffenberg would have described themselves as unlucky to have got a filly, such was the bias between the male and female offspring of this super sire. But in 2011 things have changed, as MONTJEU had with MISS KELLER and SARAH LYNX two Gr.1 winning fillies that year, as well as 2yo Gr.2 winner and classic hope in WADING. MONTJEU seems to get a force as a broodmare sire as well, as shown by the first offspring out of his daughters like PARISH HALL, winning the Dewhurst Stakes, Gr.1 in 2011.
