29/09/12 ZAHRA wins with 6 length at Krefeld

ZAHRA (Shirocco-ZEPHYRINE) became the 8th winner for her dam ZEPHYRINE, when romping home with 6 length at Krefeld on her third attempt. Bred by Graf and Grafin Stauffenberg at their SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN the filly followed her younger own sister ZEGNA in the winners enclosure in 2012, who won the Norsk Oaks 4 weeks ago. In doing so ZEGNA became the second Classic winner for her dam and an other offspring missed out this year, when ZUIDER ZEE by SAKHEE finished 3rd in the American St Leger. Her 2yo brother ZEUS by LOMITAS finished 2nd first time out last week and all these results are welcome updates for her yearling brother ZILBER by HIGH CHAPARRAL, who will be sold as Lot 238 at the Goffs Orby Sales next week.

ZAHRA will return to SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN to join her dam ZEPHYRINE as broodmare. ZEPHYRINE is one of the last mares in foal to the recently deceased MONSUN
