2yo filly GIRL OF PANGAEA (Soviet Star-Genevra) bred by Graf und Grafin Stauffenberg finished a very close second at her debut in Kempton/GB. The filly (photo left as yearling) was sold at the BBAG Yearling Sales to Blandford Bloodstock acting for Mrs Rupert and is in training with Ed Dunlop. GIRL OF PANGAEA was already several length in front, but got a little bit worried through her inexperience and lost by a head.
Her dam GENEVRA has a yearling colt by ONE COOL CAT, which was sold at the Goffs November Breeding Stock Sales to Littleton Stud. This year, GENEVRA has a filly foal (photo right) named GOLDEN WHIP (by SEATTLE DANCER), which will be retained and is unfortunately barren to CADEAUX GENEREUX.
There was an update for SQUARE THE CIRCLE in Hong Kong on the same day. ART TRADER out of MATH, a sister to SQUARE THE CIRCLE, finished 3rd in The Cathay Pacific International Trial, Gr.2, the first main event of the season in Hong Kong. MAGICAL HAWK an other sister to SQUARE THE CIRCLE has already produced her first Stakes winner in 2007, as her 3yo daughter HAPSBURG won a Stakes in France. SQUARE THE CIRCLE had her first foal by SOVIET STAR in 2007, named SHE IS MADONNA (photo left) and is in foal to OASIS DREAM.
